Definition of an adult served by APS: “Adult” refers to an individual person 18-years of age or older alleged to be unable to protect their such person’s own interest and who is harmed or threatened with hard, whether financial, mental, or physical in nature, through action or inaction by either another individual or through their such person’s own action or inaction.

Child Support Services: 1-888-757-2445

Helps children receive the financial support necessary for their growth and development. The program assists by establishing parentage and orders for child and medical support, locating noncustodial parents and their property, enforcing child and medical support orders, and modifying support orders as appropriate.

Economic and Employment Support: Provides a variety of services including cash, food, energy, and child-care assistance. It also helps individuals find and keep a job and offers employment support services. Some services are limited to families with children, the elderly, or persons with disabilities. Other services are available to all low-income families and individuals.
Prevention and Protection Services: Offers a variety of services to children, families, and vulnerable adults including protection services, family-based assessments, family support services, and independent living services for older youth and foster care.
Vocational Rehabilitation (VR): VR provides services for Kansans with disabilities to obtain, maintain or regain employment in the competitive and integrated workplace.
