Mission
Friends of the Library is a nonprofit, charitable group that supports the library through fundraising activities, volunteerism, and public awareness campaigns. Library Friends have the opportunity to have a greater voice in the programs, collections, and services the library provides.Details
Fee: Literary membership categories include Edgar Allen Poe-$10, Dr. Seuss-$20, Phyllis Wheatley-$30, Laura Ingalls Wilder-$50, Louisa May Alcott-$100, and Mark Twain-$300 (Lifetime membership)
Meetings: First Wednesday of each month (except January) 6:00 p.m. at the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library; dates and location may vary to avoid holidays and other conflicts.
Description: Friends members act as library ambassadors in the community and serve as advocates for the library. They also extend the services the library provides through fundraising and volunteer efforts. Benefits of membership include the opportunity to participate beyond borrowing materials and attending programs; to have a greater voice in the programs, collections and services the library provides; and to take advantage of special member benefits, such as discounts at participating business sponsors and at the daily and annual book sales.
