Community Band, Junction City

Details

The Junction City Community Band was founded in 1868 and draws heavily on local school employees and students for directors and players. High school students from both the parochial and public schools make up a higher percentage of the band than can be found in neighboring communities. Younger people have a great opportunity to be mentored by the director and adults who play alongside them. Rehearsals and concerts are held at C. L. Hoover Opera House. Concerts last approximately one hour. Students that have played at least one season with the band are eligible to apply for a band camp scholarship. Please see our Facebook page or send an e-mail to the band for more information. No fees to join; all concerts are free and open to the public.
