The U.S. Small Business Administration was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business. The agency offers loan guarantee programs through lenders to small businesses and start-ups, provides no-cost advising and business development programs to entrepreneurs, and assists in the procurement of government contracting and surety bonding. The Wichita District serves the 77 counties in Kansas generally west of Topeka.Categories
