KSD is a statewide resource serving families with children who are deaf/hard of hearing ages birth through 21. KSD is a bilingual school that focuses on developing American Sign Language (ASL) and English as a part of its comprehensive educational program. Students can participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, academic bowl, robotics, and many others. Early intervention services (ages birth through 3) are provided in partnership with local providers in the families’ home. KSD has a campus-based program in Olathe, KS that is an educational placement option for any student with a hearing loss ages 3-21. The KSD Outreach Team works with early intervention networks and school districts throughout the state supporting students in their local communities.
