Description: District Court has general jurisdiction over all civil and criminal cases, including divorce and domestic relations, damage suits, probate and administration of estates, guardianships, care of the mentally ill, juvenile matters, and small claims. Criminal and civil jury trials are held here. Traffic citations issued by Kansas Highway Patrol (in Geary County) or by Geary County Sheriff Department are processed by Geary County District Court. Tickets issued by a Police Department are handled at the respective Municipal Court.
