The Civil Air Patrol is an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Its membership is open to students 12 years of age and older, as well as adults of all ages. The CAP has three missions:
- Aerospace: Members and community members learn the importance of aviation and space travel and how each person has been affected by aerospace technology.
- Cadet Programs: Cadets learn about aerospace and leadership skills and are eligible for airplane rides and participation in encampment (in Salina). Survival schools are available.
- Emergency Services: Cadets and senior members participate in practice and real missions. Missions include looking for downed aircraft, looking for lost people/vehicles, damage assessment after a disaster, and working in conjunction with federal agencies at local, county, state, and federal levels.
Meetings: Every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
