The Geary County Sheriff’s Office has been in existence since 1871 and is dedicated to providing service and protection to the residents of Geary County and those traveling through it. The department consists of a Patrol Division, where uniformed officers provide day-to-day law enforcement activities and respond to emergencies within the county; an Investigations Division for crimes that require follow-up investigations, which also provides support to the Patrol Division if needed; and a Corrections Division, which manages prisoners and jail operations, including prisoner transportation. In addition, the Sheriff’s Office includes a K-9 Division, which assists deputies in locating illegal drugs, pursuing suspects, and by providing additional safety for law enforcement personnel.Categories
