Animal Control is under the supervision of Vanessa Gray, Animal Shelter Director. The Animal Control Officer responds to requests for help with animals and places stray dogs and cats in the Junction City Animal Shelter, a temporary shelter where animals are housed and fed for approximately 72-hours before being placed up for adoption.

The shelter will try to notify owners if a pet has proper identification (pet license, rabies tag, microchip, etc.). Owners are charged an impound fee and fine, and a per-day charge by the city/county. City licenses and rabies vaccinations are required for animals six months and older. To adopt a pet, one must fill out an application with the shelter and pay the stated adoption fee. Please call the animal shelter or visit their Facebook page listed above for more information.
